Diabetes risk assessment
Our clinics are dedicated to prevention of disease and illness. We can discover if you’re at risk for diabetes and help you avoid the disease by making changes to your lifestyle.
In order to provide the best possible care and fulfil ethical and legal responsibilities we require that you attend a consultation with your doctor to receive repeat prescriptions for medications.
Our doctors can provide medical certificates as long as you attend a consultation for assessment. Medical certificates cannot be given retrospectively.
It is illegal for a doctor to issue a medical certificate without a consultation with the patient.
Healthy Kids Checks for 4-year old children
If your child has had their third birthday and is not yet five, you might like to arrange for them to have a Healthy Kids Check provided by your local GP or practice nurse. It’s available to all children at or around the time of their 4-year old immunisation and helps to ensure that children are healthy, fit and ready to learn when they start school.
What is the aim of a Healthy Kids Check and what does it include?
The aim of the Healthy Kids Check is to improve the health and well-being of Australian children and promote early detection of lifestyle risk factors, delayed development and illness.
It also provides the opportunity to discuss with your family doctor or practice nurse guidance on healthy lifestyles and early intervention strategies for your child.
How do I arrange a Healthy Kids Check for my child?
If you would like your child to receive a Healthy Kids Check, give us a call on 9826 2699 during our opening hours or book online at any time!
Diabetes Risk Assessment and Management
Diabetes management requires awareness. Our doctors know what makes your blood sugar levels rise and fall and how to control these day-to-day factors.
MyClinic’s highly experienced GPs recognise the importance of managing the four major areas of diabetes management:
- blood glucose
- body weight
- blood pressure
Our GPs use medications if required, encourage increased exercise levels and provide patient counselling, as do the Practice Nurses.
