Our Doctors

I graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010. As well as working in Melbourne, I completed a 3.5-year stint in Darwin to gain some Aboriginal and Tropical Medicine experience. I went on to complete my Fellowship training in Darwin and am a member of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. I have a keen interest in Sexual Health as well as Travel Medicine.
I am a Family Physician who trained at The Royal London Hospital medical College in London, England. I came to Canada in 2003 and worked extensively in Psychiatry as well as Family Medicine. My English background has given me a strong desire to practice preventative medicine and to empower patients with the tools they need to maintain their own health and well-being. Over the last few years I have developed a holistic approach by exploring more of the mind, body and spirit connection when it comes to healing. I have a degree in Holistic Nutrition and Advanced Holistic Nutrition and was a Faculty Member and Teacher at The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Ottawa. I also worked at the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Clinic as a medical consultant providing Integrative cancer care there.

Nutritional therapy can compliment standard medical treatments for a wide variety of conditions and diseases such as Digestive and Inflammatory conditions. People with mood disorders can also benefit from nutritional support. Lifestyle counselling and coaching can also be helpful for people seeking to maintain a healthy weight.

Dr Lauren O’Kane completed her medical training at Bristol University in the UK in 2012. Since then, she has worked in different parts of the UK and moved to Melbourne in April 2019. She has been a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since 2018. Her main areas of interest are mental health and caring for people with long term health conditions.
